anyways, since I’ve started using neocities (long time ago) I’ve found the uploading process through their web interface really dumb. so I built some shell scripts to take care of just that, and auto upload shit for me (yes I know there’s already 5 gazillion cli helpers for neocities to do just that). so that’s what I used for a long time. but the time has come, and my urge to build useless shit on a scripting language spoke louder than my urge not to make useless shit on a scripting language, and the language of choice this time was perl, the most based language known to men after holy c. why perl you (the voices in my head) ask? well, because camel of course. but here’s the thing, I didn’t (and still) know how to perl, so this was just a great learning opportunity for me, that allowed me to, well, perl, and also to discover it’s basedness. larry wall is literally programmer Jesus.
so yeah I’ve built a new helper script for neocities in perl, yay. it’s hosted at my codeberg (which by the way is so much better than micro((penis))soft’s shithub). take a look if you want, I’ve put some real sovl into it (heck it even lets you delete your entire website).
